What you're getting
Get full access with the trial: it is the whole app.
There is no demo mode, no locked tab and no restricted bank. The only limit is the meter: how many transactions you have converted.
The balance check runs on your trial conversions exactly as it does on a paid licence.
CSV, Excel, QBO and OFX. Take the output into your ledger and see whether it imports cleanly.
There's no restriction on what you convert during the trial. That's the point of it.
How the trial works
Two numbers, and that's the whole of it.
Get the download and install it
Type your email and tick the box. The download appears right away, with the same link sent to your inbox. There is no card to enter.
Convert your first 200 transactions free
The meter counts transactions, not statements, so a short credit card statement costs you very little of it. Share your referral link with three colleagues who install and run a conversion, and your allowance grows to 1,200.
Sixty days to make up your mind
The trial stops issuing new allowance sixty days after it starts, or when the transactions run out, whichever comes first. Everything you have already converted and exported stays on your machine and stays yours.

Every trial carries a referral link, in the app under the trial notice. Share it with colleagues who convert statements too. When three of them install BankWriter and run their first conversion, your own free allowance grows from 200 transactions to 1,200. They pay nothing, and nothing is asked of them beyond signing up and installing it.

When the allowance runs out, the app says so. There is one plan, an annual licence for the machine you're working on, and sales open at launch.

Is the trial really free?
Yes. Type your email, tick the box, and download the full app, with the link emailed to you too. There is no credit card and no account to set up.
What's limited during the trial?
Nothing is feature-locked. All banks, all four export formats, the balance check, payee cleanup, the editable review table and scanned statements are all on. The only limit is the meter: your first 200 transactions are free, and referrals can grow that to 1,200.
How does the referral extension work?
Inside the app you'll find a referral link. Share it with three colleagues. When all three install BankWriter and run their first conversion, your free allowance grows from 200 to 1,200 transactions. They don't have to buy anything.
How long does the trial last?
Sixty days from when it starts, or until the free transactions run out, whichever comes first.
Does the trial upload my files?
No. The app never uploads your files, trial or paid. Everything runs on your machine, and it works with the internet off.
What happens when the free transactions run out?
The app tells you. Sales open at launch, and the waiting list on the pricing page gets an email when they do. Nothing is deleted: everything you have converted and exported is already on your machine, and it stays there.
